Loyola Marymount University

Believing in something brighter.

Project Synopsis

Heading into the 2023-24 school year, Loyola Marymount University (“LMU”) launched a marketing campaign aimed at elevating and activating their brand across multiple audiences. The campaign was a top priority for LMU that needed to impress on all points – from the content to the visual design to the user experience.

With LMU in charge of the content and Pentagram leading the design, we were asked to build the user experience after maintaining and enhancing a few other LMU websites over the past couple of years.

One of the key objectives of the site and the campaign overall was to place an emphasis on five key values.

LMU Values

Innovation

LMU’s commitment to innovation.

Impact

LMU’s impact on the Los Angeles community.

Culture

LMU’s culture of belonging.

Equity

LMU’s advancement of diversity, equity, inclusion and access.

Mission

LMU’s purpose-driven mission based on their Jesuit and Marymount traditions.

LMU Ignite - Filter by Value

These five values weave throughout the site architecture, resulting in a clear picture of what LMU is all about.

LMU had a lot of great content to share in a variety of different formats – from video to statistics to stories. It was critical to present each of these content types in ways that could grab people’s attention.

The result is a user experience that displays each content type in unique and interactive ways, but all on brand, within accessibility guidelines while not adversely affecting page speed.

Quotemark

With nearly three decades of experience leading university creative teams, I’ve seen my share of web development firms. Discovering Storyware was an absolute game-changer. We have since collaborated with Todd and his talented team on multiple web initiatives targeting various audiences and desired outcomes — from magazines to brand campaigns to media destinations.
