Storyware, a Charlottesville-based company, recently completed a redesign of the Grammy Awards’ Tumblr website.
Founded in May, Storyware’s specialties are web design and web and mobile development.
“Watching an event like The Grammys is an online experience,” Storyware founder Todd Wickersty said in an email. “Fans have been using social media sites like Tumblr, Facebook and Twitter for years to share their opinions while awards shows like the Grammys are occurring. The Grammys understands the importance of participating in this online conversation by having a very strong social media presence.”
Officials with the Grammys said updating their social media platforms means fans and the professional music community stay engaged and excited.
“We have not had a complete redesign since about 2010,” Lindsay Gabler, a senior marketing and social media manager for the Grammys, said in an email. “With the changing landscape of social media, we always want to make sure we are engaging across all social platforms to be a part of the music community and conversation.”

Since Storyware’s founding, the company’s projects have included web design and development work for several high-profile music artists and events, such as Tim McGraw, Dave Matthews and the Lockn’ Music Festival in Nelson County.
Tumblr last year named Storyware an “A-List Partner,” a designation given to just four theme developers in the world, Wickersty said.
Founded in 2007 and headquartered in New York City, Tumblr has 166.5 million blogs, 73.5 billion posts and about 222 employees, according to the company’s website.
The Grammys awards show is set to air on Jan. 26 on CBS.
