Announcing CvilleShops.com

I am excited to announce the launch of CvilleShops.com, an online store built to support your favorite local businesses in Charlottesville, Albemarle, and surrounding counties through the sale of gift cards. CvilleShops.com enables customers to purchase multiple gift cards from a variety of local businesses in one shopping cart, thus allowing an easier and quicker way to support many local businesses at one time.

CvilleShops.com was built to help local business in Charlottesville, Albemarle, and surrounding areas impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Storyware donated its time and resources to build and manage the website.

Local businesses receive 100% of the sale of their gift cards. Transaction fees are charged to the customer. Currently, these transaction fees are 2.9% of the order + $0.55. These transaction fees are used to cover the fees from PayPal, which the website uses to process credit cards and transfer funds to local businesses. At this time, Storyware does not receive any proceeds from the site.

In order for a local business to participate, they need to have a PayPal account and be able to ship gift cards either physically or digitally. Local businesses can sign up to become a vendor of CvilleShops.com here.
